Hola, soy Ignacio.

¿Qué tal?

I'm Ignacio and I've been teaching Spanish as a foreign language since 2010. Ever since, I've regularly followed trainings to be up to date with the most innovative learning methodologies and technological applications.

I'm from Alicante, a charming Spanish city in the southeast of Spain, well-known for the sea and the nightlife. Little secret between us: there's way more to do and see in my region. Varied gastronomy, warm people, dream villages, historic tours, the blooming of almond trees or traditional festivities (type on YouTube: "Moros y Cristianos" and "Hogueras de San Juan").

I'm passionate about languages, travelling, nature and watching documentaries about any subject that I don't know about. At the moment, hiking and gardening are my two big hobbies, but I'm always curious to learn new things. What about you?

When I was 15, my high school organised a language exchange with Swedish students. Once in Stockholm, I had to speak a foreign language (English) for the first time in my life to make myself understood. And the magic happened. My knowledge of English was quite poor and my pronunciation was terrible, but people understood me! Those two weeks in Sweden I learned many things, but no doubt my greatest discovery was the beauty of communicating with someone from another culture.

Ever since, my whole life has revolved around languages, first as a translator and then as a teacher. I've been through the language learning process on several occasions myself and so I collected lots of valuable information about difficulties and tricks to use my previous linguistic knowledge in order to understand a new language.

My experience as a teacher of students of multiple linguistic backgrounds and an age range from 7 to +99 helped me adapt my teaching methodology to provide each student with what works best for them.

Since 2010, I've been teaching at the prestigious Instituto Cervantes (IC) in two different countries, which is the educational institution awarding the DELE certificates (Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera). Currently, I work for them as an accredited examiner for the Oral Exam, necessary to obtain the said certificate.

Besides, I worked for the renowned International School of Toulouse for four years, teaching Spanish to IGCSE and IB (International Baccalaureate) students.

I devote a great deal of my free time to creating teaching materials, discussing with colleagues about teaching methodology, getting continuous training, listening to students feedback and keeping up to date with every new trend in the language teaching world.

I'll make sure you feel comfortable and motivated. Let's do it!
